Fingerless gloves!
I'm madly knitting fingerless gloves for my stall at the Christmas Fair at Plas Glyn-y-Weddw at LLanbedrog. So far I've made seven pairs and am hoping to get it up to ten by next weekend.
They really are very simple to make as I don't put in fingers or thumb so they are just a knitted rectangle made to the length you prefer. I cast on 42 stitches using 4mm needles and double knit yarn.Actually I use two yarns (of a thinner type) together to make roughly double knit thickness....this way you can mix some lovely colours together. When your rectangle is the length you like just cast off and sew up the sides leaving a gap for the thumb. Knit a little flower to sew on the wrist part if you like, and that can then be decorated with a bead or button.

The Christmas Fair is December 4 and 5 from 10am until 5pm. Nearest town is Pwllheli and it's about 5 miles from there,
Harrogate Knit and Stitch
Well this was a wonderful experience as I'd never been to one of these shows before....came back full of inspiration and ideas...and shopping! I particularly admired all the work on show by various colleges and textile departments....such great things going on I just wish I could whip back the clock and get in there!
